Dr. Cameron has been an educator for over 20 years. She began her career as a Special Education teacher in District 11 in the Bronx. After successfully completing the Leadership Academy, Dr. Cameron served as the Principal of the STAR Academy, in District 1 for over 17 years. Dr. Cameron worked collaboratively to develop an equity team that began in 2016 at STAR Academy. She has worked to develop the school’s vision to incorporate a culturally responsive and anti-racist curriculum with a lens towards equity and inclusion. A staunch proponent of students becoming socially aware, and active global citizens, Dr. Cameron believes education is intertwined with social justice. She is excited to join the D13 community to continue supporting equity and diversity throughout the district.
